Who are the winners of the third edition of Who is On Next?

The competition for young designers ended with a tie that has the taste rewards of sobriety

Andrea Pompilio and Emiliano Rinaldi are the winners of Who is On Next? Man competition held by L'Uomo Vogue in collaboration with Pitti Immagine Uomo Altaroma and dedicated to young creatives in men's fashion.

Awarded June 15 in the Palazzo of Florence's business, set up in a contest designed by the architect Alessandro Moradei, Pompilio and Rinaldi, were chosen by a panel of top buyers, signatures of fashion journalism and industry opinion leaders. The other six competitors were: 10A Trousers Suspender Company (Daria and Matthew Cibic Dazzan), Comeforbreakfast (Antonio Romano and Francesco Alagna), Alexander and Catherine Manzi Coccioli; Larenza Luke, and, for accessories, Milius by Milan (Milan Stamenovic) . A special mention went to 10 A, Matthew Cibic label (a past as a product designer and art director), and Daria Dazzan (student of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, one of the most prestigious fashion schools in Europe, with experiences gained by Veronique Branquinho and Hussein Chalayan), and the inspiration for the quality of the presentation, highly communicative, creative and unique product. Out of competition, the Canadian John Lee Brunswick, designer accessories.

In these days the two designers are in the frame of the fashion shows in Milan dedicated to the man next spring / summer to present their winning collections. We discover who they are.

Andrea Pompilio was born in Pesaro in 1979. Completed her Masters in Fashion Design at the Istituto Marangoni, formed in collaboration with Alexander McQueen, Prada, Calvin Klein, Yves Saint Laurent and Bally. Author of a male line that bears his name, Pompilio debut with the collection A / W 2011-12, a collection of classic pieces reworked by changing proportions and subverting details. The collection of summer does not betray the style and casual sophistication of his creativity. Among the items that comprise a two-button jackets are of mesh cloth, white linen shirts, tank tops in wool gauze and transparent skinny chinos, and finally, the shirt printed with a pattern of palms and orchids, oversize jeans, Bermuda shorts, parkas and sweatshirts read, ideal for rainy days.

Emiliano Rinaldi was born in Arezzo in 1979. With an engineering degree in his pocket and engineering work experience gained in the company of family, Rinaldi goes to fashion design as an inevitable development of his creativity, already evident in childhood. The first collection is signed by him addressed to men and women of the P / S 2011. On 15 June he won the competition by submitting a men's collection inspired by the equestrian world. Everything revolves around the jacket, hermes handbag jockey, head to the tip of a dotted line from an old flavor, finished with natural materials (cotton from raw finish, linen, silk, denim) transformed by technological treatments.
