Gipsy beauty

With a fairy tale Gypsy, Peter Dundas Pucci brings more than its limit. It pushes it beyond its history and its press, without denying the one and the other

Narrate the news, they still do not know how to be enveloped by the beautiful fables, which in Saintes Maries de la Mer in southern France, on 24 and 25 May we celebrate the feast of Saint Sara, patron saint of all Catholics throughout Europe that the gypsies rejects them. A few months before, from Macedonia, where the Gypsies have reported that Alexander the Great died in India, traspornatandolo immersed in a barrel of honey, a procession begins luxurious, conducted by a gypsy queen with his whole court, comes from in the heart of an unspoiled natural park of the Camargue, where the Spanish influence is very marked and ineradicable.

The ceremony that follows is full of music, dance, joy, beautiful women dressed in the clothes of an incredible luxury and adorned with precious jewels. It's nice to think that Peter Dundas, Scandinavian-born creative director of Pucci, has taken inspiration from this sacred ceremony where it mixes with the beauty and richness of the dresses and jewels of which only the gypsy may be carriers. It's nice to think that the beauty gispy staged with the collection of Pucci S / S 2012 has not only references, perhaps unconscious, hermes handbag to the luxury that is released in this ancient ceremony and noble, but nobility even more by transforming codes of elegant brand.

With this collection, Dundas fulfills the mission of carrying Pucci over its code, pushes him toward adventure with no return, it is a vision of him that processes without forgetting where it came from. Just look at the clothes butterfly flapping graceful without being burdened by overlapping pounds of jewelry, or clothing made of a white lace Sangallo, magically, reproduces the famous Pucci prints with absolute discretion. And the clothes knit crochet total transparency, impenetrable veil which also appears to nudity.

It is a festival of color, a feast of forms which manifests itself clearly in the skirts of Infanta, large, swollen, supported, or in the jackets of the traje de luz (here and returning to Spain in the Camargue), the bullfighter's red as a passion as the luxury, like the festival, such as wealth. Or like the carefree attacking in moments of joy, moments of the sacrum (the sacred that everyone chooses) in moments of beauty. All moments of lightness in Dundas didascalizza butterfly dresses, but are present even in the blacks of jersey shorts with lace thigh, taken directly from the underwear drawer and transferred under a jacket.
